CHARGING TIPS

Normally 12 to 16 hours are required by the batteries for the 100% charge but this may exceed up to 48 hours for the large or full-sized stationary batteries.

Further, you can decrease the full charging cycle up to 8 hours by using the higher charging currents or the different-stage charge methods.

This has to be remembered that there are three different phases of charging to charge all lead-acid batteries i-e from the (CC) constant current stage -to- the float charge state.

It is noted that a lead-acid battery is normally charged up to 70% in less than 8 hours on the constant current charge and the other 30% charge can take at least 10 hours with a slower topping charge to make it complete to 100%.

Topping charge is considered the most important as it checks the ability of the battery to arrive at the point of a full 100% charge.

The battery will start losing its power to recognize a 100% full charge if your battery is gradually deprived of the top charging, in this way battery will automatically lose its energy faster and easier.

It is recommended by the experts that always charge your lead-acid battery in the open or ventilated areas to prevent it from overheating and try not to allow the battery to arrive at its freezing point. At the temperature of 49 degrees Celsius, avoid charging your battery.

PROLONGING THE LIFE OF LEAD-ACID BATTERIES

Avoid electrical short, acid stratification or sulfation, dry out and corrosion, if you want the prolonging the life of your lead-acid batteries. Remember, lead-acid batteries require at-least 50 full charging cycles to achieve its peak posting where it gives the best performance.
